AbbVie provides fiscal strategy update following strong Q3 performance
AbbVie has announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2015, during which it delivered a revenue total of $5.94 billion (3.84 billion pounds).
This represented a year-on-year increase of 26.2 percent, thanks in large part to the continued strength of Humira and other promoted products. Meanwhile, its earnings per share figure rose by 27 percent to $1.13.
Having exceeded its previous guidance range for earnings per share, the company has raised its outlook for the full year.
Richard Gonzalez, chairman and chief executive officer of AbbVie, said: "AbbVie is well-positioned to deliver strong top and bottom-line performance through 2020 and beyond. We have built a strong foundation, establishing growth platforms in some of the largest and most attractive market segments."
The company has also provided an update on its long-term strategic and financial objectives, revealing that it expects to achieve double-digit adjusted earnings per share growth on average through to 2020.
By the end of the decade, its total annual sales are forecast to reach around $37 billion.
