Abcam to supply Alabama biotech firm

Abcam is to supply products to Alabama-based Open Biosystems, the company has revealed.

Products manufactured by Abcam are to be sold alongside existing brands within the Open Biosystems catalogue.

Meanwhile, a search function is to identify all associated products suitable for studying a particular gene, in order to ensure customers are fully aware of the available options.

Jonathan Milner, chief executive officer of Abcam, said: "We are delighted to sign this agreement with Open Biosystems.

"Abcam is recognised in the marketplace for the quality of its products and we are happy to provide Open with a selection of our products for distribution."

The Cambridge-based supplier adds that through the collaboration, the most extensive collection of resources for analysing gene function is to be created.

Abcam recently brought online a new high throughput facility which it claims is to add about 30 million pounds to its annual revenue.
