ABPI chief executive Stephen Whitehead departs

2nd October 2015

The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) is seeking a new chief executive officer (CEO) following the departure of Stephen Whitehead.

Mr Whitehead has stepped down from his position and left the organisation, with the ABPI thanking the outgoing chief executive for his contributions to its success and transformation over the last few years.

The ABPI has now commenced its search for his permanent successor, although it stated that it remains too early in the process to discuss potential candidates.

In the interim, Alison Clough has stepped into the role of acting CEO. She previously held the post of executive director for UK commercial activities, and has been with the organisation since 2009, having previously worked for Quintiles and GlaxoSmithKline.

The ABPI said in a statement: "Both as president, and on behalf of the ABPI board and staff, we want to thank Stephen for the very significant contribution he has made to the transformation and success of the ABPI."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801802122-ADNFCR
