Acelity highlights strong growth in fourth quarter of 2014
Acelity has announced its financial results for the fourth and final quarter of 2014, during which it achieved a revenue total of $482.7 million (311.25 million pounds).
This represented a 4.4 percent year-on-year increase as reported and a 6.5 percent improvement on a constant currency basis, with strong sales within its advanced wound therapeutics business offsetting the weaker performance of the regenerative medicine unit.
For the year ending on December 31th 2014, the firm's revenue total was $1.87 billion, up from the prior year by 7.7 percent as reported and 8.3 percent in constant currency terms. The acquisition and integration of Systagenix was highlighted as a key driver of momentum.
Joe Woody, president and chief executive officer at Acelity, said: "We continue to make focused investments in market development, geographic expansion and innovation to further accelerate growth for the long term."
The last year was a significant one for the firm, which adopted its current brand name in September. This followed parent company Centaur Guernsey's decision to merge its three subsidiaries KCI, LifeCell and Systagenix into a single organisation, which was subsequently named Acelity.
