Actavis and Omega Pharma form trading alliance

Actavis is to work together with Omega Pharma in a new trading partnership designed to improve the two companies' standing in the UK market.

The alliance will see the firms join forces to improve their detailing, display and distribution arrangements with British pharmacies, thereby creating a stronger relationship with pharmacists.

Actavis said it will be providing Omega Pharma with advice and support on expanding its market positioning, while also continuing to invest heavily in its own products, such as Sominex and Cymex.

Meanwhile, Omega Pharma stated that forging stronger links with the independent pharmacy business will help it to cater to consumer needs.

Kay Patton, sales director for Omega Pharma, said: "We recognise the pivotal role pharmacists and pharmacy assistants play in communicating key healthcare information to consumers."

Actavis is one of the UK's largest pharmacy sector companies, offering a portfolio of more than 350 products, with in excess of 300 further treatments in development.
