Actavis names new chief financial officer

Actavis has announced the appointment of Maria Teresa Hilado as its new chief financial officer, succeeding the retiring Todd Joyce.

Ms Hilado can boast more than 26 years of global finance experience, with specific expertise in business development and mergers and acquisitions. She joins Actavis from PepsiCo, where she has served as senior vice-president for finance and treasurer since 2009.

She accrued healthcare sector experience during a year with Schering-Plough and spent 17 years of her career at General Motors.

Ms Hilado will take up her new role on December 8th 2014. Her predecessor Mr Joyce will remain with Actavis to support the transition throughout the early parts of 2015.

Brent Saunders, Actavis' chief executive officer and president, said: "She will bring extensive expertise in global finance, mergers and acquisitions and business development, and is widely recognised for her exceptional leadership skills."

Mr Joyce first joined Actavis' predecessor company Watson Pharmaceuticals in 1997, eventually becoming chief financial officer in 2009. His retirement was announced earlier this month.
