Actelion executive team honoured at industry awards

Actelion's management team have been presented with a number of accolades at the recent 2011 Institutional Investor All-Europe Awards.

The pharmaceutical manufacturer was named second overall in the most honoured company rankings, which were based on the opinions of more than 2,000 investment professionals and sell-side analysts.

Actelion chief executive officer (CEO) Jean-Paul Clozel was rated as the biotechnology sector's leading CEO, while chief financial officer Andrew Oakley and investor relations officer Roland Haefeli also led their respective categories.

Mr Clozel said Actelion's strong performance at the awards reflects its commitment to investor relations and transparency in its strategic and operational initiatives.

"The result of this survey has also been reflected in the strong support for our strategy that we have received during our recent discussions with shareholders," he added.

Last month, the company published its financial report for the 2010 full-year period, during which Actelion achieved a 13 percent year-on-year sales growth.
