Advanced Medical Solutions appoints new CEO

Advanced Medical Solutions has announced that Chris Meredith is to become its new chief executive officer (CEO) as of January 1st 2011.

Mr Meredith is stepping into the medical technology firm's top managerial role after current CEO Dr Don Evans stated his intention to step away from the day-to-day running of the business.

The newly-appointed CEO currently serves as chief operating officer, a position he has occupied since January 2010, and has been involved in the company's operational activities since he joined in 2005.

Meanwhile, Dr Evans will take up a role as non-executive chairman, where he will continue to share his knowledge and experience of the field.

Penny Freer, senior independent director of Advanced Medical Solutions, said: "The board has fully deliberated these changes and the continuing directors believe they are in the best interests of both the company and its shareholders."

In September 2010, the company published its financial report for the first half of 2010, during which it saw a 47 percent year-over-year growth in revenue.
