Advanced Medical Solutions has obtained CE mark approval for its Silicone PHMB Foam Dressing

Advanced Medical Solutions (AMS) has obtained CE mark approval for its Silicone PHMB Foam Dressing, which will be sold through AMS’s network of wound care sellers and partners in CE mark established markets.

The foam dressing is a polyurethane foam injected with Polyhexamethylene Biguanide along with an atraumatic perforated silicone wound contact layer. The dressing is recommended for use in multiple wound care, including diabetic ulcers, pressure sores, burns, and post-operative surgical wounds. In addition, the product can handle both wound exudate and microbial infection, and during dressing changes and wound healing, the atraumatic silicone layer helps to reduce wound discomfort. Foam dressing is successful against a wide range of microbes and MRSA, with in vitro experimentation showing the destruction of MRSE, MRSA and E. coli within a day.
