Agilent and PureHoney to develop new RapidFire 365 applications

Agilent Technologies has announced a new co-marketing agreement with fellow life science company PureHoney Technologies.

The deal will see the two companies work together to develop new applications on Agilent's RapidFire 365 high-throughput mass spectrometry system, which was acquired when Agilent took over Biocius Life Sciences in 2011.

PureHoney is a contract research organisation founded in 2014 by the original developers of the RapidFire instrumentation, which has become recognised as the benchmark platform for high-throughput mass spectrometry since its launch.

Agilent and PureHoney will develop applications that will help to create new and improved workflows for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical research, as well as forensic toxicology and metabolomics analysis.

Monty Benefiel, Agilent's vice-president and general manager of the company's mass spectrometry division, said: "Our partnership with PureHoney Technologies will enable both companies to synergistically enhance application offerings, providing scientists with a greater range of capabilities to enhance the depth and speed of pharmaceutical research."

The RapidFire system provides drug-screening technology that produces results ten to 100 times faster than conventional screening methods.
