Agilent expands IC-CAP platform
Agilent has expanded its integrated circuit characterisation and analysis program (IC-CAP) software platform at analogue/mixed-signal foundry X-FAB, it has announced.
In a statement, the organisation explained that the IC-CAP tool is a device-modelling program that has the capacity to deliver powerful analysis and characterisation capabilities for modelling and semiconductor processes for RF and DC applications.
Commenting on the move, Todd Cutler, marketing manager with Agilent’s EEsof EDA, said that the company is pleased.
"The major software/platform technology enhancements we have implemented in the 2009 release of IC-CAP will ensure that X-FAB is equipped with the most powerful and flexible device modeling platform," he added.
Sebastian Schmidt, group coordinator of SPICE modelling at X-FAB’s Germany-based facility, said that IC-CAP has been the firm’s "workhorse" for the last eight years.
Earlier this month, Agilent announced the introduction of a new LTE baseband exploration library – version W1912 – for its SystemVue 2009 design platform.
