Agilent introduces mass spectrometry products at ASMS 2011

7th June 2011

Agilent Technologies has unveiled a number of new products at the American Society of Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) annual meeting.

The manufacturer has introduced a number of devices that offer improved instrument design, software, consumables and reagents, for use in biology and analytical chemistry analysis.

Among them is the Agilent 6550 iFunnel quadrupole time-of-flight liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) system, a high-performance unit optimised for challenging applications, as well as the 7200 Q-TOF, its first gas chromatography time-of-flight instrument.

Other new innovations included the "workhorse" 6420 triple quadrupole LC/MS instrument, enhanced versions of the 6100B Series single quadrupole device and new MassHunter software.

Gustavo Salem, vice-president and general manager of Agilent's biological systems division, said: "Our ultimate goal is to make all mass spectrometry analysis routine, even as users look at increasingly complex samples."

Last month, the company published its financial report for the most recent fiscal quarter, during which it experienced strong year-on-year growth of 32 per cent.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800570453-ADNFCR
