Agilent launches updated SurePrint gene expression microarrays

Agilent Technologies has introduced updated versions of its SurePrint gene expression microarrays for messenger RNA profiling applications.

The updates improve coding and noncoding content for human, rat and mouse models, providing up-to-date tools for researchers to investigate expression patterns on a highly accessible platform.

Developed in collaboration with Ghent University for complete coverage of the LNCipedia 2.1 database, the aim was to allow users to assay high-confidence, long noncoding RNA transcripts for a range of cancer, cardiovascular and neurodegenerative disease applications.

The updated microarrays are fabricated using SurePrint technology to enable precision oligonucleotide synthesis. 

Dr Alessandro Borsatti, senior director of genomics at Agilent, said: "Our SurePrint gene expression microarrays encompass not only the rigor of expert content, such as LNCipedia's lncRNAs, but also the flexibility of customisation for expert users."

This comes in the same week that the company also expanded its market-leading SureSelect target-enrichment product family for disease research applications.
