Agilent presents thought leadership award to systems pharmacologist
Agilent Technologies has named Dr Lawrence Lesko as the winner of an Agilent Thought Leader Award for his research into preclinical toxicological assessments of new medicines.
The internationally recognised systems pharmacologist was presented with the Benefiel-sponsored award in recognition of his work, which could enable the development of future companion diagnostics.
Director of the Center for Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology at the University of Florida's College of Pharmacy, Dr Lesko and his team utilise Agilent's accurate mass Q-TOF LC/MS device and its Mass Profiler Professional and Pathway Architect software to analyse metabolomics data and discover biomarker panels.
Monty Benefiel, Agilent's vice-president and general manager of the mass spectrometry division, said: "We are pleased to support Dr Lesko's research, which is addressing important needs in the rapidly evolving field of systems toxicology."
The Agilent Thought Leader Award promotes scientific innovation by providing financial support, products and expertise to support the work of influential thought leaders in the fields of life science, diagnostics and chemical analysis.
