Agilent Technologies commits to remaining cash-flow positive

15th May 2009

Agilent Technologies has emphasised its commitment to remaining cash-flow positive following the publication of its financial results for the second quarter of 2009.

Despite the ongoing financial difficulties being experienced by some sectors, the company said it is dedicated to delivering consistent performance in accordance with its operating model.

Positive operating cash-flow for the quarter reached $137 million (89.86 million pounds) and revenue totalled $1.09 billion. Orders were down by 33 per cent from a year previous.

Agilent Technologies remarked that it has taken restructuring actions that are on-track to reach annualised savings of $525 million by the middle of next year.

During the period "Agilent continued to deal aggressively with the effects of the severe global economic downturn", said president and chief executive officer Bill Sullivan.

Meanwhile, this week saw the company release its ninth annual report on environment and social responsibility.

Covered in this publication are details of performance in 2008 with regards to sustainability goals.
