Agilent Technologies introduces new compact FTIR spectrometer
Agilent Technologies has announced the introduction of a new type of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer that is said to be the smallest of its kind.
The Cary 630 device is optimised to offer high-level performance and reproducibility for routine laboratory analysis of solids, liquids and gases, with customer applications in mind during its design process.
It allows sampling accessories to be equipped and removed in a matter of seconds, allowing it to be used easily even by novices, while its unique liquid sampling technology removes the need to use a liquid transmission cell.
Pharmaceutical industry clients have been advised that the Cary 630 unit is compliant with the relevant regulations and ideal for quality assurance and compliance work.
Philip Binns, Agilent's vice-president for spectroscopy products, said: "It provides exceptional value, performance and usability all packed into the smallest instrument available in the market."
Last month, the company announced that it will be allying with Chungnam National University for new research into glycomics, for use in the development of cancer therapies.
