Agilent Technologies launches new DNA sequencing kit
Agilent Technologies has released a new DNA sequencing kit which is designed to allow experiments to be conducted more efficiently.
The science company has allied with the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and Gencode consortium in developing the SureSelect Human All Exon 50 Mb Target Enrichment kit, the commercial version of which launches this week.
Using this new technology, life scientists are able to sequence the expressed genome while discarding any regions which are not relevant, allowing the overall process to be streamlined.
Dr Fred Ernani, the Agilent SureSelect platform’s business manager, acknowledged the role played by its long-term collaborative partner the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in developing the product.
He said: “We look forward to continuing this productive relationship to bring the genomics community even better tools in the future.”
Last month, Agilent signed a deal which will allow SeqWright DNA Technology Services to become the first certified service provider for the new SureSelect system.
