Agilent Technologies renames Velocity11
Agilent Technologies has renamed its Velocity11 division as Agilent Automation Solutions.
Introduced at the LabAutomation2009 show, the new division has also launched the Direct Drive Robot and VWorks Automation Control Software in order to continue with its aim to automate laboratory processes, Agilent said.
The former product has been designed to improve high-throughput screening for research in drug discovery and can be used with the software to allow "best-in-class automation solutions".
It can also be used in PCR sample preparation, DNA extraction and other genomics processes and its configurable Z-travel technology allows greater practicality and instrument-stacking potential in a smaller footprint.
Commenting on the new products and applications, Rob Nail, general manager at Agilent Automation Solutions Division, said: "Our revolutionary Direct Drive Robot and VWorks Automation Control Software enable scientists to focus on science, rather than the manual tasks that create significant inefficiencies in the lab."
This week, people in scientific sales jobs may also have read of Agilent Technologies’ announcement of support for the use of its GoldenGate RFIC tools in STMicroelectronics’ 65nm Design Platform.
