Agilent Technologies to expand SureVector cloning system
Agilent Technologies and Eurofins Genomics are collaborating to offer custom components and an assembled plasmid service for Agilent's SureVector next-generation cloning kits. Agilent will also offer a set of catalog components for its leading-edge SureVector cloning kits, enabling the creation of over one million different cloning vectors.
Since its acquisition of Stratagene in 2007, Agilent has been a leading provider of molecular biology tools. SureVector is the world's first molecular vector kit, enabling biologists to construct customised vectors – small DNA molecules within cells that can replicate independently – from standard components.
"The Eurofins collaboration is an exciting step forward for SureVector," said Alessandro Borsatti, head of genomics marketing for Agilent. "It allows us to offer customers individual vectors or the ability to customize any fragment in the SureVector system."
