Align Technology announces retirement of long-serving board member
Align Technology has announced that David Collins intends to retire from its board of directors on May 15th 2014.
Mr Collins will step down prior to the 2014 annual meeting of stockholders and will not stand for reelection, while the company has confirmed that it does not intend to replace him in his seat on the board.
He has served on the Align Technology board since 2003 and is a member of the audit and compensation committees. During his time with the firm, it has seen exceptionally strong growth, with clear aligner treatment and digital dentistry becoming more mainstream than ever.
Mr Collins thanked his colleagues, as well as Align's customers and their patients, while voicing confidence in the organisation's future growth prospects.
Ray Larkin, Align Technology's chairman, said: "The company has made tremendous progress during Dave's tenure. His leadership, insight, wisdom and candour have been a source of inspiration and guidance for all of us."
In 2013, the company's annual revenue total came to $660.2 million (397.37 million pounds), a 17.9 percent increase on 2012, making it Align's most successful year ever.
