Align Technology previews new Invisalign Outcome Simulator

Align Technology has provided a preview of the Invisalign Outcome Simulator, its first chair-side application powered by the iTero intra-oral scanner.

At the recent Chicago Midwinter Dental Meeting, the company showcased the interactive application to attendees in order to show how it can improve patient communication.

The intuitive new program uses iTero digital scans of the patient's own dentition to create a simulation of how their teeth will look after Invisalign treatment, making it easier than ever to show the benefits of therapy.

Market testing of the Invisalign Outcome Simulator is currently taking place ahead of a planned general launch this summer.

Tim Mack, senior vice-president of business development for Align, said: "By providing Invisalign doctors an easy way to show their patients the benefits of Invisalign, we will help more patients get the treatment they need and help doctors grow their practices."

The manufacturer achieved a record-breaking financial performance in 2011, with sales improving by 23.9 percent year on year, thanks in large part to growing demand for Invisalign.
