Align Technology’s Invisalign used to treat three millionth patient

5th March 2015

Align Technology has announced that its Invisalign dental straightening system has now been used to treat three million patients worldwide.

The passing of this milestone reflects the accelerating rate of adoption of the product worldwide by Invisalign-trained doctors and their patients, as well as the gradual expansion of its availability to new territories in Europe and Asia.

To mark this occasion, the company has formed a new partnership with Operation Smile, an organisation dedicated to helping children across the world born with cleft lip and cleft palate.

Align Technology has agreed to donate $1 for every public share of a photo of a person's smile on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #3millionsmiles, for a total donation of up to $1 million.

Thomas Prescott, Align Technology's president and chief executive officer, said: "We are proud to be helping these doctors transform smiles with Invisalign treatment, as more and more people realise the benefits of straightening their teeth without brackets and wires."

Last month, the firm announced its latest financial results, revealing that it achieved double-digit growth during the fourth quarter and full-year periods of 2014.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801778556-ADNFCR
