Alliance Boots hails success of CPD training scheme
Alliance Boots has expressed satisfaction with the success of its continuing professional development (CPD) training scheme held during 2009-10.
The company has been conducting training days at 70 centres across the UK and Ireland in order to help engage and motivate pharmacy sector staff in building better relationships with other healthcare professionals, reports Chemist and Druggist.
According to the firm's social responsibility report for the year, this success has been complemented by a major expansion of its e-learning programme to include modules on topics such as product knowledge, operational procedures and health and safety.
Alliance Boots confirmed that it will be running the training days again in the coming year and is already in the process of planning the events.
The Boots Pharmacists' Association added that it has been "delighted" with the training scheme's success.
Earlier this year, the firm's Alliance Healthcare division opened a new service centre in Exeter, which improves its ability to supply services for the south-west of England.
