Alliance Healthcare, AAH to be among exclusive Servier distributors

Alliance Healthcare and AAH Pharmaceutical are to become two of a limited number of wholesalers chosen to distribute Servier Laboratories products in the UK.

The company, which is responsible for brands such as Protelos, Natrilix SR and Coversyl Arginine Plus, is switching to a new restricted distribution arrangement involving only three companies, reports Chemist and Druggist.

Alliance Healthcare and AAH will be joined by Phoenix Healthcare as exclusive Servier distributors under the new supply chain arrangement, which comes into effect as of August 1st 2010.

Other Servier pharmacy brands include Procoralan, Valdoxan and Diamicron MR.

This comes after Chemist and Druggist reported last week that Schering-Plough has also chosen Alliance, AAH and Phoenix as its exclusive UK pharmacy distributors.

The new Schering-Plough arrangement came into effect at the beginning of the month and was described by the firm as being a more “efficient and streamlined” method of distributing its products.
