Almirall places focus on health and safety

15th July 2009

Almirall invests a great deal of time and effort into health and safety training, the organisation has asserted.

The company explained that it has been rolling out risk prevention programmes over the past few years and will continue to do so in the future.

In 2007, certification body TUV Rheinland awarded Almirall with the OHSAS 18001 classification after evaluating and auditing its health and safety processes.

A number of successful follow-up audits have taken place since this time, with the most recent one being passed in January 2009.

Meanwhile, more than 80 safety inspections and internal audits have been carried out, as have 119 risk assessments at workstations and sites.

Commenting, Carlos Blanquer, general director of the industrial area at the firm, which recently received Food and Drug Administration approval for its almotriptan migraine treatment, said that health and safety are important strategic factors for Almirall.

“This is why we share health and safety action plans with all of them as well as with external companies who work with us in our centres,” he concluded.
