Amaxa offers siRNA-only protocol

Amaxa is offering a protocol for its cell line optimisation 96-well nucleofector kit designed purely for small interfering RNA (siRNA) analysis.

While the kit may also be used for plasmid DNA analysis, Amaxa advises that those interested solely in the siRNA approach may now make use of an alternative optimisation protocol.

However, the firm adds that those wishing to use the protocol should have "an established read-out assay for measuring the knockdown effect".

According to Amaxa, the nucleofector kit is effective in determining the ideal conditions for transfecting difficult cell lines, without the need for further experimentation.

While the optimisation protocol which includes plasmid DNA analysis is capable of conducting 31 tests and maintaining a control sample, the siRNA-only version maintains a 16-sample control group and performs 15 tests in total.

In addition to the siRNA substrate, customers wishing to include plasmid DNA analysis are told by Amaxa to use the proprietary pmaxGFP substrate.
