Amgen appoints new chief financial officer
Amgen has announced the appointment of Robert Bradway as executive vice-president and chief financial officer of the company. In this position Mr Bradway will be responsible for the finance and strategy operations of the firm, in addition to those concerned with investor relations.
Mr Bradway is replacing Richard Nanula in the role, with Mr Nanula leaving Amgen to follow opportunities elsewhere.
Prior to joining Amgen last year as vice-president of operations strategy, Mr Bradway was employed by Morgan Stanley for 18 years, holding the position of managing director in investment banking and leading the firm’s European healthcare practice.
Kevin Sharer, chairman and chief executive officer of Amgen, said: “Bob brings nearly 20 years of corporate finance experience to his new role and we are delighted to have him as part of our executive team.”
He added praise for Mr Nanula, who will remain at Amgen for 90 days to aid a smooth transition, citing his vital role in the growth of the firm during his tenure.
Last month, prime minister Tony Blair opened a development centre for Abbott in Uxbridge, with the site forming a significant part of the firm’s research and development efforts in the UK.
