Amgen names new permanent chief financial officer
Amgen has appointed David Meline as its new executive vice-president and full-time chief financial officer (CFO), effective as of July 21st 2014.
He joins the company from 3M, where he most recently served as senior vice-president and CFO, leading financial activities across 70 countries of operation. At Amgen, he will take charge of finance and investor relations operations.
Mr Meline has been appointed as the permanent successor to Jonathan Peacock, who left the company in January 2014 and provided assistance with the transitional process until last month.
Michael Kelly, an 11-year Amgen veteran who has served as acting CFO since this time, will now relinquish his duties, having successfully overseen the company's financial operations on a temporary basis.
Robert Bradway, chairman and chief executive officer, said: "David's leadership talent and broad international experience will be invaluable to Amgen as we execute our strategy for long-term growth and bring our pipeline of medicines toward commercialisation in a number of new markets."
