Amgen reports positive multiple myeloma data for Kyprolis regimen

10th December 2015

Amgen has announced new clinical data that demonstrates the benefits of a Kyprolis-based combination treatment regimen for the treatment of multiple myeloma.

Results from the pivotal phase III head-to-head ENDEAVOR study comparing Kyprolis plus dexamethasone to an alternative treatment in patients with relapsed multiple myeloma have shown the survival benefits of the therapy.

Kyprolis plus dexamethasone achieved a progression-free survival rate of 18.7 months, compared to 9.4 months for the current standard of care. This shows that patients with relapsed multiple myeloma treated with Kyprolis lived twice as long without their disease worsening.

Dr Sean Harper, executive vice-president of research and development at Amgen, said: "This is an important publication because it provides clinical evidence of Kyprolis' potential to extend the time patients live without their disease progressing and improve the depth and duration of a response."

The company filed for European regulatory approval to expand the indication of Kyprolis for the treatment of relapsed multiple myeloma earlier this week.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801807824-ADNFCR
