Anachem Bioscience partners Lab901 to launch new electrophoresis platform

Anachem Bioscience has announced a partnership with Lab901 to launch a new fully-automated walk-away electrophoresis platform.

Lab901’s ScreenTape system uses a microscale polymer tape containing all required reagents for DNA electrophoresis, Anachem asserts.

Molecular biology business unit manager at Anachem James Wilson stated that working with Lab901 will enable the firm to bring consumers a safer and more efficient system for biomolecular separation with capabilities for advanced data analysis.

Joel Feranley, chief executive of Lab901, commented: "Lab901 is proud to engage market leader Anachem as its exclusive UK distributor.

"We look forward to a long-term partnership that will help establish the ScreenTape system as the product of choice for electrophoresis in laboratories across the country."

The firm asserts that ScreenTape replaces the need for gel tanks, buffers, hand-cast gels and gel-doc systems, producing results in under ten minutes.

Earlier this year, Anachem announced the availability of a new range of KeyPrep nucleic acid mini prep kits that ensure consistent prep-to-prep and kit-to-kit reproducibility.
