Anachem highlights ‘fast, effective PCR solution’

8th May 2009

Anachem has revealed that use of a PCR solution it currently provides laboratories could make significant reductions to cycling times.

The group said this week the KAPA2G Fast Hot Start DNA polymerase kit from Kapa Biosystems would not only offer high levels of performance, but could also cut processing lengths by around 70 per cent.

In addition, Anachem explained that the enzyme technology is a more efficient solution than that provided by traditional wild-type Taq polymerase models.

"It generates higher yields and sensitivity than other enzymes across a wide range of amplicon types," the group noted, concluding no specialist PCR consumables or instrumentation were required for this.

Last month, Anachem drew attention to the Kapa Biosystems blood PCR kits, stating they provide direct amplification from fresh or frozen whole blood for laboratories in the UK and Ireland.

The firm also advised that the Guthrie cards were compatible with "existing workflows, standard protocols and routinely used detection methods".
