Anachem opens UKAS-accredited pipette service centre

Anachem has opened a brand new UKAS-accredited pipette service centre in the town of Luton, Bedfordshire.

The company, which supplies precision pipettes and tips for the manual handling of liquids, first achieved the internationally-recognised UKAS standard in 1988, which guarantees the "quality and traceability" of the work performed by the group's technicians.

According to Anachem, achieving this standard requires "complex and expensive ongoing auditing", involving the continual checking of humidity levels, temperature and laboratory suitability.

Furthermore, securing UKAS status for the new pipette service centre means all of the technicians working in the branch will be subjected to constant assessment, evaluation, training and monitoring.

Elsewhere, the standard means all of the equipment kept by Anachem will be meticulously checked to ensure it conforms to industry specifications.

The company relocated to the new purpose-built site in Luton on December 20th 2010 in the hope of "strengthening its existing leadership" in the sector.
