Anachem provides ‘new and easy’ micro-organism identification
Anachem has revealed a "new, easy to use and cost effective" alternative to standard methods for microbial colony identification and counting.
Compact Dry provides rapid confirmation of results and is recommended by the manufacturer for testing raw materials or finished products in food, beverage and cosmetic microbiology laboratories.
As Anachem pointed out at the launch of its latest product, the Total Count version of Compact Dry is the first product to receive overall MicroVal approval, while all other Compact Dry systems are AOAC-approved.
"Compact Dry combines the features and benefits of traditional plate media with the advantages of dehydrated film media," a spokesperson for Anachem commented.
"This unique combination will shorten your test time, increase your lab efficiency and so reduce your costs," added the spokesperson, pointing out that the new product uses dehydrated selective or differential media in a compact, robust plate format.
According to the company, this offers significant advantages over other dry film techniques as samples are dispensed into the middle of the plate where they self-diffuse evenly over the entire surface, while the covering lid eliminates the risk of contamination and enables an unlimited number of units to be stacked safely together.
