Andor promotes US-Irish investment

12th May 2008

Andor has been included on a new index to promote US investment in Ireland.

The light measuring solutions manufacturer features on the listing alongside "esteemed companies" such as the Kerry Group, Diageo, Aer Lingus and First Derivatives.

Selected on the basis of growth and financial performance, the list was launched by The Irish Echo to encourage US-Irish investment.

Conor Walsh, the company’s chief executive, said: "We are honoured to be included in this listing promoting Northern Ireland investment opportunities.

"Andor has close ties to the United States, a key market for us, and inclusion in the Irish Echo Top 30 Index further strengthens these ties."

The firm has headquarters in Belfast and employs more than 160 staff with distribution to about 40 countries.

It was founded in 1989 by scientists working in the physics department of Queen’s University.
