Animal Trust hails success of new Bolton hospital’s first month

Animal Trust Veterinary Surgeons has expressed satisfaction with the performance of its new hospital in Bolton during August 2014, its first full month of operation.

The facility welcomed 2,000 clients through the doors during the month, with many finding out about the hospital through recommendations from friends or testimonies shared on social networks such as Facebook.

Capable of treating more than 50,000 pets per year, the site is the biggest centre of its kind in the north west and is staffed by a growing team of fully-qualified vets and nurses. It offers free consultations and subsidised treatment to all pet owners, regardless of means.

Group director Owen Monie said: "Because we're committed to providing affordable pet care to everyone, we rely on word-of-mouth. It helps us get enough people through our doors to be able to sustain our business model as a not-for-profit company."

The firm relocated its main Bolton surgery to a larger purpose-built hospital on Lower Bridgeman Street on July 14th 2014, with the opening of its third clinic in Blackburn following a month later.
