Animalcare appoints new chief financial officer

Animalcare has announced the appointment of Chris Brewster as its new chief financial officer and member of its board of directors.

The current group accounting manager of Findus will join the veterinary medicines manufacturer on May 31st 2012 and will play a crucial role in the company's efforts to accelerate its business development.

Since 2010, Mr Brewster has been responsible for managing the consolidation and preparation of Findus' monthly accounts in the UK and Europe, while previous employers include KPMG, where he worked with clients such as Infinis, Persimmon and Maplin Electronics.

Stephen Wildridge, Animalcare's chief executive officer, said: "We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Chris to the business and the skills and experience which he has gained over the years will be a great asset to the company."

This comes in the same week that the firm announced half-yearly financial results that were in line with expectations, with growth of its new veterinary pharmaceutical products tempered by persistent difficult economic conditions.
