Animalcare develops Equizol

The UK’s first omeprazole granule medicine for gastric ulcers in horses, Equizol, has been developed by Animalcare. Equizol, made with gastro-resistant granules, is apple flavoured and can be combined with dry feed.

The granule formulation, offered in packs of twenty-eight sachets containing adequate omeprazole, has been produced to assist owners who find syringe administration difficult.

James Beaumont, Animalcare’s product manager, stated: “With the launch of Equizol, we are offering an innovative, easy to use and cost-effective solution to the common problem of gastric ulcers, based on tried and trusted omeprazole.”
