Animalcare introduces new generic animal health products

20th June 2011

Animalcare has announced the launch of two new generic additions to its range of analgesia and anaesthesia products.

The company is launching Sedastart and Sedastop in the UK and Ireland having received approval from the Veterinary Medicines Directorate and the Irish Medicines Board earlier this year.

Sedastart is a sedative to be used on dogs and cats prior to a minor operation or for use ahead of a dose of general anaesthetic, while Sedastop can be used after a procedure to reverse these effects.

The products – which can be used as a pair or individually – are being released to follow on from Animalcare's successful UK introduction of Cephacare, Buprecare and Benazecare.

Stephen Wildridge, chief executive officer of the company, said: "We are very pleased to be able to add Sedastart and Sedastop to our range of analgesics and anaesthetics, an area of strength for our business."

According to the firm's last financial report, Animalcare revenue levels rose by 12 percent year on year during the final six months of 2011.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800585011-ADNFCR
