Ansell agrees purchasing deal with Ramsay Health Care

Ansell has entered into a multi-year purchasing agreement with private hospital group Ramsay Health Care.

The three-year partnership will name Ansell as the preferred supplier for surgical gloves and healthcare safety solutions to Ramsay's hospitals and day surgery facilities, with the agreement confirmed to cover Australia and potentially also the UK, France and Indonesia.

Ansell and Ramsay have been working together for a number of years, with the new arrangement allowing Ansell to benefit from its partner's expansion into new markets.

Ramsay's procurement manager Bill Porter said the deal will help to ensure the firm pays regionally competitive prices for its supplies, no matter which country it is operating in.

Anthony Lopez, president and general manager of Ansell's medical solutions global business, added: "We … consider the agreement a terrific opportunity to showcase Ansell's ability to leverage its product leadership and global operational capacity to serve the needs of global customers in multiple healthcare segments."

Last month, Ansell expanded its business operations with the acquisition of Comasec SAS, an international manufacturer of personal protective equipment gloves.
