Applied Biosystems and METTLER TOLEDO introduce solution to simplify flow of information

18th December 2007

Applied Biosystems and METTLER TOLEDO have launched an integrated solution to improve the workflow and transfer of information in laboratories for a number of scientific disciplines.

The companies have combined efforts to create what they claim is a "one-of-a-kind" solution to provide researchers with the means to exchange data between precision instruments and laboratory information management systems.

METTLER TOLEDO’s LabX data management software has been integrated with Applied Biosystem’s SQL*LIMS laboratory information management system to form the solution.

The companies claim that the combination enables researchers to manage data "more efficiently" and cost effectively.

Holger Linnertz, head of LabX Competence Center at METTLER TOLEDO, said: "We looked to partner with one of the leading LIMS suppliers in the laboratory world, who had the necessary credentials to support our customers in their informatics needs.

"SQL*LIMS from Applied Biosystems has a long track record of industry leadership and provides a complete enterprise-accessible solution that meets the demands of laboratories across a broad range scientific disciplines."

Applied Biosystems is a technology leader focusing upon basic research, commercial research and standardised testing.
