Applied Biosystems group attains ethical listing
Applied Biosystems’ (AB) Life Technologies Corporation has been listed in the FTSE4Good Index Series, it has been announced.
The company, which formed as part of AB’s merger with Invitrogen Corporation, was recognised for its "social, ethical and environmental" approach to business – a prerequisite of an appearance in the list.
It is noted that the FTSE4Good Index Series is designed help generate investment in international companies based on their credentials as good global business ambassadors.
Greg Lucier, chairman and chief executive officer of Life Technologies, said inclusion in the series was reflective of the hard work it had done of late.
"The environmental and societal aspects of how we conduct business are as important as economic performance in ensuring our future success. It is gratifying to secure recognition for our commitment to global citizenship."
So far, there are approximately 900 companies that feature in the FTSE4Good Global Index.
Life Technologies announced this week it would webcast an investor presentation in connection with the UBS West Coast Bus Tour.
