Ark Therapeutics launches Kerraglove

13th July 2009

Ark Therapeutics has announced the launch of Kerraglove, which is a dressing device in the shape of a mitten, in the UK.

In a statement, the company explained that the medical device is designed to manage exudate in hand injuries – especially burns.

During the development of the tool, Ark Therapeutics tested a series of semi-breathable polyurethane films to ensure the creation of a confined but moist environment within the glove to promote healing.

Cecile Miles, commercial director at Ark Therapeutics, explained that the new device complements the company’s existing range of woundcare products.

“Kerraglove is a very simple product to use and its design – with gas permeable film – is an advantage over existing barrier approaches. Its promotion fits in well with the activities our sales team currently undertake,” he added.

Earlier this month, Ark Therapeutics announced an agreement with Oy Lx Therapies to produce vascular endothelial growth factor C in an adenoviral vector.
