Astellas Pharma appoints urology/dermatology sales head

Astellas Pharma has announced the appointment of qualified nurse Jo Underhill as sales and marketing director for urology and dermatology.

Ms Underhill joined the company in 2008 in the role of national sales manager for urology/dermatology and has proven her expertise and capability over the last four years.

Her new responsibilities include the maintenance of Astellas' leadership position in urology, as well as the development of its dermatology brand, with several new product launches planned over the coming months.

She will also be tasked with creating evidence-based strategies to satisfy the needs of stakeholders at a time when the NHS is undergoing considerable change.

Mike Crooks, general manager at Astellas Pharma, said: "Her arrival into this new role completes our UK management team and … we now look forward to maintaining and growing our position across all of our therapy areas."

Earlier this month, the company published positive new clinical data from a pair of real-world trials of Qutenza, its treatment for peripheral neuropathic pain.
