Astra Tech implants ‘still highly effective’

Research has revealed that dental patients who are treated with Astra Tech implants were likely to experience minimum bone level reduction.

The findings were revealed at the Astra Tech Dental World Congress, held in Washington DC, where the results of a five-year study and additional long-term were discussed.

Lyndon Cooper, professor of dentistry in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina – who worked on one of the studies – will be attending the congress from June 4th – 7th.

Professor Cooper explained: “Follow-up research among patients consistently shows a marginal bone level reduction of just 0.4 mm or less for Astra Tech dental implants, a performance indicator at least three times superior to the industry norm.”

It was noted that the industry standard is reduction of 1.5 mm after five years, highlighting the success of the Astra Tech Implant System.

Meanwhile, Astra Tech has announced a partnership with 3M ESPE Lava, in order to develop the co-ordinated use of Lava’s digital scan technology with Astra Tech’s Atlantis technology.
