AstraZeneca hires former GlaxoSmithKline staffer as corporate affairs head
AstraZeneca has announced the appointment of Jennie Younger as its new vice-president of corporate affairs.
Ms Younger joins the pharmaceutical company from FTI Consulting, where she served as senior managing director and partner. Prior to this, she served in senior comms roles at Deutsche Bank and GlaxoSmithKline, where she worked as global head of comms and community partnerships.
She will join AstraZeneca on April 18th as the successor to Caroline Hempstead, who has been hired by building materials manufacturer LafargeHolcim. In her new role, she will lead the firm's international corporate affairs function from its headquarters in Cambridge.
Her global responsibilities will encompass all of the company's internal and external comms and government relations.
Pascal Soriot, AstraZeneca's chief executive, said: "I'm pleased to welcome Jennie to AstraZeneca at this important time for our company. Jennie brings extensive communications and investor relations expertise that will reinforce our strategic progress with key stakeholders."
