AstraZeneca loses biologistics chief

AstraZeneca has seen its chief of biologistics make clear his intention to leave the company at the end of this month.

Dave Mott is currently the president and chief executive of AstraZeneca’s MedImmune operation but he will be leaving the company at the end of July.

As a result, the pharmaceutical group’s executive vice president of global marketing Tony Zook is to take over at the head of MedImmune on a temporary basis until a full-time replacement has been appointed to the post.

Bosses at AstraZeneca have commented on the success achieved by Mr Mott during his time at MedImmune, which is described as a key part of the group’s strategy for future growth.

David Brennan, chief executive of AstraZeneca, said: “We will continue to build on that strong platform, maximising the potential of products in the MedImmune portfolio while delivering innovative new biological medicines and vaccines that treat and prevent disease.”

AstraZeneca claims that its commitment is to discovering and developing new ideas that will ensure its future as one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical businesses.
