Aurora appoints new managing director
Aurora has announced the appointment of Sian Hurst as its managing director of Aurora as part of a move to give the agency greater independence.
Ms Hurst has been with the agency since March 2008, when she took up the role of associate director to become the sixth member of the Aurora team. She was promoted to director in 2012 to oversee new business, client accounts and resourcing, reports PMLiVE.
Following her promotion, the agency's founders Neil Crump and Claire Eldridge will become its chief executive officers, allowing them to focus more on client relationships and the international growth of the business, while Ms Hurst handles day-to-day agency management.
Aurora is part of the GLOBALHealthPR network of independent agencies, but the leadership team has decided to continue taking the company forward in an autonomous direction, rather than selling up or pushing for greater integration into a larger unit.
Mr Crump said: "We can make a bigger difference to clients, and ultimately patients, without the constraints of a parent company."
