Avidity Science Reduces the Environmental Impact of Packaging

The cardboard wrapping used to transport water filtration systems made in the UK was examined by the company’s research team at Avidity Science.

This was done as one component of an ongoing effort to lessen the ecological footprint and promote sustainability, with every filtration unit needs to be secured to allow it to be shipped and distributed in pristine condition.

The researcher’s at Avidity Science investigated solutions to deliver the necessary strengths without using plastic. To boost its overall durability, the group developed and innovative concept using a cardboard design in an array of folds.

Additionally, a supplementary container for equipment was developed, contributing to the design’s functionality and stability
Head of business, Matthew Marchetta disclosed that “An internal accessory box was also included for components, this was practical and also enhanced the rigidity of the design.

He also commented that “moving to a fully cardboard solution now means all the packaging can be widely recycled. It’s also worth noting that all the corrugated material is FSC certified and is therefore responsibility sourced.”
