AxiCom names new chief executive officer

AxiCom has announced the appointment of Helen Ridgway, one of the agency's co-founders, as its new chief executive officer.

Ms Ridgway has been selected for this leadership role after previous chief executive Julian Tanner was appointed global technology leader of AxiCom's parent company Cohn and Wolfe earlier this month.

The new boss previously served as AxiCom's managing director and can boast three decades of experience in the field of tech PR, during which she has worked with leading brands such as Fujitsu, ARM, Hewlett-Packard, Dixons and Microsoft.

She will now be responsible for running all seven of AxiCom's European offices, driving the integration of the agency's digital, content generation and analyst relations services into its traditional PR offerings, and contributing to the performance of the wider Cohn and Wolfe group.

Following her promotion, Henry Brake will take on full responsibility for the AxiCom UK office as its managing director.

Mr Tanner, who has remained as the agency's chairman, said: "AxiCom will continue to lead in Europe and be a valuable partner in Cohn and Wolfe's plans for global growth in the technology space."
