Bausch and Lomb unveils new Storz CapsuleGuard IA handpieces
Bausch and Lomb has announced the launch of new additions to its Storz CapsuleGuard IA range of handpieces.
Unveiled at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery conference in Chicago, the new products include a smaller, MICS 1.8 incision option and three new tip designs for the single-use silicone instruments.
These new additions bring the total number of instruments available in this product line up to ten, providing a wider range of options both for incisions and techniques for irrigation and aspiration.
Storz CapsuleGuard IA are available across a number of global territories, including the US, Europe, Australia, India and Canada.
Dr Cal Roberts, executive vice-president and chief medical officer at Bausch and Lomb, said: "This new offering in our signature Storz line was based on direct feedback from the industry's surgeons who told us they wanted more choices to better treat their cataract surgery patients."
Earlier this month, the company announced that the UK rollout of its PureVision2 HD for Astigmatism contact lens range will take place over the next three months.
